"Historically, Washington has been a self-contained city with its luxury property concentrated in Georgetown or Kalorama," says Mr. Bell. "But the last ten years have shown the growth of fine properties in outlying areas within the city. We've been doing business outside of downtown for a number of years, and the growth of the over 4 to 25 million dollar market has increased significantly," he says.

ABOUT JIM BELL
A veteran in real estate development, sales and mortgage banking, Jim has closed over 400 million dollars in mortgages over the past 15 years. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Jim graduated with a B.A. in real estate and sociology from Georgia State University. After college, Jim began as an assistant to a bond trader in a mortgage-backed securities firm until ultimately starting First Union's Mortgage Lending office in Washington, D.C., during which time he also became an accredited Real Estate Appraiser and a Certified Instructor for the Board of Realtors in Washington.
Since 1990, Jim Bell Real Estate working with Washington Fine Properties has specialized in the buying and selling of fine residential property and real estate in Washington, D.C, Kalorama. and Virginia, historic district and surrounding communities. For the past six year, he remains one of the top five agents.
Jim is an avid Braves fan, loves all things southern, including cooking and gardening. He is a member of the Georgetown Citizens Association, and the Greater Capitol Area Association of Realtors. He is a Board Member of the Washington National Opera.
