NEW TRAVEL BLOG SPEAKS TO
THE HEART OF TRAVEL & WRITING

(GLEN ROCK, New Jersey/ MediaQuire)  TraveltheWriteWay.com, conceived by author Linda Dini Jenkins, combines the joys of writing with the joys of travel, providing true stories, travel tips, and writing advice for travelers. Jenkins is an intrepid traveler whose expertise is capturing experiences, memories and discoveries about the people, places, food and cultural gems and surprises she discovers along the way.

Journaling and writing about travel will be a major focus in Travel the Write Way. Linda will share with readers her favorite travel and journal writers, and she will invite prominent travel and writing experts to be guest bloggers, as well. The first of these will be Ashley Bartner, whose popular agriturismo/cooking school near Urbania is featured in her blog www.latavolamarche.com.

Add a few prized recipes and travel tips to the mix … like how to travel with a group and maintain your sanity … where to find a synagogue on the second floor of a shopping mall . . . why January 6 is even more exciting than December 25 for Italian children . . . and you’ll feel like packing a bag immediately and taking off to experience some travel yourself.

And Linda reminds us that travel doesn’t necessarily mean crossing an ocean or going to exotic places. You can learn a great deal in the next town or in your very own city, where you escort out-of-towners to your secret destinations … those special places you won’t find in all the guidebooks.

“Author Miriam Beard once wrote, ‘Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living,’ and that’s what attracts me to travel so much — that change,” says Jenkins. “If all you’re going to see is what you read about in the guidebooks, save your money. I advocate going with an open mind and an open heart and that you throw away the itinerary once in a while. And then write it all down.”

With her blog, Linda hopes to inspire others to dig out their travel photos, journals and notes, take up their pens and write their travel memories into life again. And guess what? You don’t even need a passport!
